Later in 1980, he moved to Florida to adopting a new venture in real estate focusing on seeking tenants with commercial interests. He partnered up with Armando Codina owning 40% share on the profits made by the two.
During this stint, Bus also worked as
a consultant to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System in selling water pumps in Nigeria where he was paid $75,000 for finding a location for the company.
Politics
It was in 1994 when Bush first tried his hand in politics when he ran for the position of Governor in Florida losing by a narrow margin of 2 points to Lawton Chiles. Bush, however earned the position in 1998 by winning the election with a majority vote of 55%.
He held the position for two terms that is an eight-year period and made progresses in economy, environment, health care and the education system. He is also credited to ending the high speed rail initiative in Florida while only having been sworn in to the position for two days.
Later in 2015, Bush announced his interest in candidacy for the 2016 Presidential Election.
The campaign for presidency didn’t fare well for him as he ended up dropping out of the election after a series of poor result in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Majority of the fortune of Jeb Bush is accounted to the firm Jeb Bush & Associated that he established in 2007 which provided legal consultancy. Bush owns the firm with his son Jeb Jr. and made $33 million in between 2007 and 2013.
Lehman Bros. and Barclays is the main client of the firm from which the firm collects almost a one-third of the revenue. The firm also makes money from public speaking and other clients that seek legal advice.
Properties
Bush and his wife Columba, purchased a house in Miami in August of 2011. The property spanned on 3,485 square foot land and consisted of four bedrooms, a guest house and a garage which connected to a coral stone courtyard.
He listed the housed for sale in 2019 for $1.8 million, a half a million dollar over the price at which he had made the purchase.
Bush also owns a seaside property in Maine evaluated at $1.4 million. On the 1.3 acre land, lies a 3,000 square feet house with four-bedroom, and four and a half bathrooms.

John Ellis Bush (Jeb for short) was born to George H.W Bush and Barbara Pierce Bush in February 11, 1953 in Midland, Texas. He grew up with his older brother George W. Bush, two younger brothers Neil and Marvin, and a younger sister Dorothy.
Jeb graduated high school from a boarding school in Massachusetts called Philips Academy and later joined University of Texas in Austin and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts.
Bush is known to have recreationally used drugs such as marijuana and hashish during his high school and college days. Bush played tennis in both high school and college.
At the age of 17, Bush taught English as a second language in Guanajuato, Mexico as a part of Andover’s student exchange summer program. During this time he met Columba Garnica Gallo.
They married on February 23, 1974, four years after they first met. The spouses have three children, George Prescott,
Noelle Lucilla Bush and Jeb Bush Jr.
Bush converted to Roman Catholicism in 1995. He previously practiced Episcopalianism which is a Western Christian tradition. He is also a member of Father Hugon Council 3521 in Tallahassee.
