James May lives in Hammersmith, west London. He bought the house for £325,000 ($352,200) back in 2000. The property is also combined with a semi-derelict property next door for which he plunked down £310,000 in 2013. 

As of now, both the properties are revamping to build one big house. Its ground-floor will features a garage, kitchen-dining area, piano room, and entertaining space. There will be three bedrooms, a study, a library, and two bathrooms on the upstairs. The house’s value is estimated at around £3.5m even before its complete renovation.
