Chad began his career as a skateboarder in early 1994 for Maple. Around the time, he also appeared in the video Rites of Passage.
Following his departure from Maple, he joined a skateboarding company called Toy Machine. He quickly became a leading member of the team, facilitating Elissa Steamer’s sponsorship. Hee was teamed alongside fellow skateboarders Mike Maldonado, Ed Templeton, Jamie Thomas, and Brian Anderson.
In 1997, Muska left Toy Machine due to some issues and joined the then-fledgling Shorty’s brand. He was chosen to develop the skateboard deck division from which the company thrived.
