Avril Ramona Lavigne was born on 27th September 1984 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada to Jean-Claude Lavigne and Judith-Rosanne Loshaw. She holds dual nationality (French-Canadian) and has White-Caucasian ethnic descent. 

Lavigne grew up alongside her siblings Matthew Lavigne and Michelle Lavigne. She went to Napanee District Secondary School. 

The Complicated singer is currently dating an Indie Artist named Pete Jonas at the moment. 

She was previously married to Canadian musician Chad Kroeger (from 1st July 2013 to 2nd September 2015) and Sum 41 lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Deryck Whibley (from 15th July 2006 to 16th November 2010). 

Did You Know? Avril was diagnosed with Lyme disease around her 30th birthday and is in the recovering process.

Lavigne reportedly resides in California where she owns a 10,200 sq.ft 6-bedroom and 7.5-bathroom mansion in Sherman Oaks. She purchased the property with her then-husband Kroeger for $5.995 million and is listed for $7.49 million.  

Previously she also owned a 12,184 square feet mansion in Bel Air California with her first husband, Deryck. The 8-bedroom and 11-bathroom mansion was sold for $9.5 million in 2011.
