Anthony Joshua made his debut against Emanuele Leo in 5th of October 2013, winning the match by total knock out within 2 minutes and 47 seconds into the first round. He was featured in two more fights in 2013, against Paul Butlin and Hrvoje Kisicek, which he both won by total knock out in the second round.

In 2014, Joshua maintained his winning streak winning all the seven matches he had been a part of, all either by knock out or total knock out. His ninth match, against Denis Bakhtov, won him the WBC International Heavyweight title on 11th October 2014. 

In 2015, Joshua upped his streak to 15-0, winning all the matches while retaining his WBC International Heavyweight title. Of all the five matches he won, he successfully delivered knockouts to all his opponents. 

Joshua walked out of the arena with an undefeated streak in 2016, 2017, and 2018 as well. Among the seven matches in the 3-year-period, he knocked out six of his opponents and won one by unanimous decision. During this period, he added WBA Superheavyweight title and IBO Heavyweight title around his waist while retaining his IBF heavyweight title.

On 1st June 2019, Joshua suffered his first loss against Andy Ruiz Jr. in Madison Square Garden, New York. He lost all three of his titles after Ruiz successfully knocked out the defending champion in the 7th round of the 12-round-match. The rivals had a rematch on 7th December 2019 in Saudi Arabia, in which Ruiz and Joshua went toe to toe until the end of the 12th round, after which Joshua was declared the winner.

For the rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr. in Saudi Arabia alone, Joshua brought in a sum upwards of $60 million, which doubled the net worth of the star boxer Joshua in 2020. Until this point, Joshua boasted a net worth of $55 million.

Residence

Despite being worth a hundred million dollars, Joshua has stayed modest regarding his fortune. The humble sportsperson who bought his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son Joseph, a $650,000 penthouse in London, actually lives in a two-bedroom ex-council house in Golders Green, North London. Joshua, however, has rented a $25,000 a week mansion in the past.

After his heroics at the 2012 London Olympics, the boxer also bought his mom a $230,000 property in London. 

Automobiles Owned

Joshua has owned three luxury cars after finding success as a professional boxer. The first car owned by him was a Vauxhall Astra, which retails at $30,000. He had bought the car during the early stages of his career and even had financial troubles to complete the insurance payment for the vehicle.

The second car AJ bought was the Jaguar XJR, which cost him upwards of $85,000, which he claims is one of his favorite cars and associated it with his success to being an established athlete.

In 2017, Range Rover custom made Range Rover Dynamic designed to fit the boxer’s gear perfectly, and the vehicle cost him an amount of £150,000, which equivalents to about $200,000. AJ also once owned Audi A3 S-Line, which costs $40,000 in the market.

Personal Life   

Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua was born to Yeta and Robert Joshua in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, on 15 October 1989. His family lineage roots back to Nigerian and Irish ancestry. 

Joshua spent his early years in a boarding school in Nigeria and returned to the UK at 12 after the divorce of his parents. He graduated high school from Kings Langley Secondary School and was great at football and athletics, breaking the school’s 100m record with a time of 11.6 seconds.  

In 2009, Joshua was sentenced to house arrest for being involved in a fight, and the sentence required him to wear an electronic tracker around his ankle. Later in 2011, he again got in trouble with the law after being pulled over by the police for speeding while possessing eight ounces of marijuana on him. This caused him a suspension from his boxing squad and was required to do unpaid community service for 100 hours.

Joshua was involved with a yoga instructor and a pole dancer named Nicole Osbourne, with whom he has a son named Joseph. The couple is no longer together after Joshua couldn’t manage to stay loyal to the relationship, allegedly hooking up with celebrities such as model Cara Delevingne and singer Rita Ora.

The 30-year-old boxer stands at the height of 1.98m and weighs in at 108 kilograms.

Trivia: In June of 2019, Joshua was honored by the Queen of England with a knighthood on her birthday.
